Legal Requirements For Marriage

In Fiji you must go to the Registrar Office in person to apply for a marriage license. Offices are located in Nadi, Suva, Lautoka and Sigatoka and are open weekdays 9am - 3pm, excluding public holidays. Once you have the license in hand you can proceed to your chosen resort. The wedding must occur within 28 days of the application. As an alternative to doing it yourself wedding coordinators at many resorts offer special wedding packages which include handling all the legal details.

Blood Test Required: Yes
Witnesses Required: 2 witnesses over the age of 21 years of age

Return ticket or onward ticket required with proof of entry.

Visa requirements vary for each person depending on country of origin

Proof of Divorce Decree if Divorced
Proof of Death Certificate if Widowed
Certificate of Single Status is required if a) one party is a local and the other is a foreign citizen b) applicants are former citizens of Fiji c) applicants are foreigners residing in Fiji d) Asians who are not citizens of either Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, UK, Japan and European countries.
Marriage Applicants from Japan must produce kosekishouhom, to certify personal details. Marriage
applicants from China, Philippines, Pakistan, India, Korea must apply one month in advance and produce police clearance.
